About a month or so back I posted on Facebook that my husband and I were enjoying a glass of champagne to celebrate five years since we got engaged.
I spent a fair amount of time trying to get the perfect shot to share on my iPhone - the angle was great, the champagne bottle glistening - but as you can tell in the below image on the left, it just wasn't doing the trick.
In fact, it was doing the opposite of doing the trick - the image is flat and dull, the colours are muted - this is what could very much be called an unprofessional or amateur pic.
It didn't take me long to grab my DSLR camera and snap the pic on the right - and this right here is why there's a difference between "just using your smart phones" to photograph a family event or shoot; and hiring a professional photographer.
Just saying :)
