So I recently started a new blog series on a few of the things happening around my FAVE city - Johannesburg!
So here we go - the second in a series of things going on around Joburg!
1. Market on Main Pop Up at 44 Stanley
We're big fans of 44 Stanley around here - the centre has been growing over the last couple of years, and now has a host of new amazing stores, some old fave restaurants, and once-per-season, a lovely late night event!
"Market on Main is coming to 44 Stanley for a fabulous night market pop-up. In addition to all the shops and restaurants staying open late, your favourite market vendors will be scattered around the centre."
2. Express Xmas Photo Sessions by Robyn Davie Photography
Yes, yes I know, that's me! But we're hosting these amazing mini photo sessions and you may just want to book one, so I'm listing them here!
We’ve blocked off an entire weekend (16-18 November), and will be decorating a gorgeous Parkhurst house so that you and your family can pop in for a quick, fun express Christmas-themed family photo shoot!
The shoot will be photographed by our RDP associate photographer team.
Email hello@robyndavie.com for prices and info.
3. The Ethical Market at the Bamboo Centre
"The Ethical Market is a platform for local and ethically made brands to showcase their goods, whilst bringing attention to the process and the people behind the scenes. We are a part of The Fashion Revolution. The market opens at 9am on Thursday the 25th of October and the opening drinks will be available from 5pm - 8pm."
4. Ladysmith Black Mambazo at Nirox
Nirox is seriously one of my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE places in the world. For reals. There is something ridiculously relaxing about spending a day out at this beautiful venue, and their next event sounds really lovely:
"Nelson Mandela Children's Fund Benefit Concert featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo performing live at NIROX Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind. On Saturday 27 October a collection of South African musicians will lend their voices and their art to a collaborative fundraising effort for the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund."
The RDP is super proud to be sponsoring a ticket to a group of girls from Child Haven who will be attending the event. Thanks to lovely Shelley for organising!
5. Made By Jewellery Workshops
We adore working with the two fab humans who run these jewellery workshops - during which you can carve your own custom ring from wax, which will then be set into a beautiful wearable artwork for you!
Each workshop takes place in a different restaurant/event space across Joburg, with an amazing theme! The recent one I attended was at Saigon Suzy, and we got to do a sake tasting and feast on dim sum! It was such a lovely experience, we've signed up to do another workshop!
Have a peek at my IG story of our morning there.
