Maternity shoots are one of our absolute favourite things to capture - it's just so wonderful to be part of the process of documenting the beginning of your new little munchkin's life!
This post will hopefully clarify the process a little :)
When is the most ideal time for a maternity session?
You want your belly to be big and beautiful, while still feeling comfy and happy! Our personal recommendation (and this is based off feedback that we've received from preggie moms and lots of reading online) is to aim for the 6-8 month mark. It is still completely possible to take pics during the ninth month (we had one mom who literally gave birth just days after our session!), but a lot of mamas say to us that they wished they'd done the shoot a little bit earlier.
Of course each pregnancy and preggie belly is different, so use your personal experience and stamina as a guide too!
Where is the best place to shoot?
Our favourite spot for any family shoot is always at your family home - that way we get great natural shots in your natural at-home environment. That said, we do a lot of shoots at Delta Park - it provides a large variety of set-ups and fun spots!
What should I bring on the day?
Ideally a few outfits that accentuate your preggie belly, that are comfy and flattering. The best outfits will be timeless, without branding or over-accessorising that distracts from the wholesome nature of the shoot.

Our personal approach is to avoid props or unnecessary items - our style is all about capturing natural, organic moments.
Can my kids/husband/pets/friends be involved in the session?
Of course! Let us know before hand and we'll let you know which package is best for you to book to include your loved ones :)
